Ava also has multiple AKC Best of Breed puppy wins as well as an AKC German Shepherd Specialty Best Puppy and AKC German Shepherd Specialty Best of Sweepstakes Puppy. She also produces quality pups as well as she already has SIX puppies that have earned their conformation show championships!!!
She is one GREAT looking sheep herding shepherd!
Ava has produced sables, saddles (traditional black/tan), white puppies. She has also produced not only short (normal stock coat), but plush and long coated puppies.

Tasha is Show Championship titled and has her Canine Good Citizen certificate. She is Zelda's and Jake's full sister and all are 1/4 Czech Pohranicni Straze Border Patrol Lines. These bloodlines were acquired from the former DDR (East Germany) and Czechoslovakia in 1955, to serve Border Patrol. The dogs are unique with their strong nerve, large bone structure, dark pigment and willingness to work defense, obedience and tracking. They are the total companion - alarm system - bodyguard, all in one package! We are very excited to have them as part of our breeding program.
Tasha has been color gene tested through HealthGene and is white-factored and black-factored. She is also potentially long-coat factored since she has a sister who is a long-coat.

Zelda is a "Carrier" on the OFA Degenerative Myleopathy Suseptibility Test. Zelda will ONLY be bred to a male that is "Normal" to insure that the puppies produced will not be "At Risk".

I have been told by some breeders that Vada is a long coat...and other breeders who believe Vada is a plush coat. We will know for sure once she matures. (Feb 2010 - Vada has front leg fringe now besides the ear fringe she developed last summer...she is therefore a long coat.)
I wasn't planning to keep a colored puppy from the HemixAva breeding until Kelli Malone evaluated the litter and gave some of the highest marks to Vada. However, both females from the litter were promised to others...and then one home fell through...and the other home chose the other female Ginger...and then Vada was left. :) It seemed like fate.

I have been told by some breeders that Jewel is a long coat...and other breeders who believe Jewel is a plush coat. We will know for sure once she matures.
Jewel's mommy happens to be the groomer who grooms Crosby (see male page). Crosby is such a wonderful ambassador for the breed, he has the most awesome temperment. When she heard that I had Crosby's niece up for the Foster program...and saw this plush baby, she had to have her.
< NEWSFLASH: August 1, 2009, at the tender age of 4 months, Jewel is already performing well. At the White Shepherd Club of Canada Nationals weekend, she took a Best Puppy (BPISS - Best Puppy in Specialty Show) and then also accomplished her Herding Instinct Certification with Ducks. She really is a Jewel!!
